Arid Agriculture

Opuntia Ficus Indica

It has always been my intention to grow food crops in arid regions that required little to no external watering and produce a lot of food. This blog is my introduction to this ongoing experiment. I will document what I found, what I changed and what works in this part of the state.

Before Arizona, I lived for 2½ years in Trona, CA. During that time I created a garden. I grew cayenne pepper, Thai pepper, Swiss chard, cantaloupes, water melon and hot radishes along with a few varieties of cactus.
