In 2000, Dries Buytaert helped set up a wireless bridge in his University of Antwerp dormitory so he and his friends could keep in touch and stay up to date on their projects. Soon, a small news site was up and running, and by 2001, Dries decided to release the software so others could experiment with it and extend it. He called it "", which derives from the English pronunciation of the Dutch word "druppel", which means "drop".

This module resolves the frequent troubles to display and manage ads in a 8 application. "Ad System module" manage through Ad Types, and puts in any place using the block visibility rules. Per each Ad, you can configure the sizes and resolutions to show in a block.
Ads also is an entity and support "bundles" (Ad Type), so you have the power to configure variants and customize it for google advertising or special ads.
